12/12/11 – A mostly unexciting update.

Progress continues on the EP. We’re onto the mixing stage, and so far it’s sounding pretty unbelievable. The artwork is also in some incredibly capable hands, and I’m personally getting really excited to be able to show you guys something soon. It’s going to be nice to have something to show for the last few months!

We’re playing one more show this year – at The Jagged Rock Lounge (?), also known as the old Little Civic (!) in Wolverhampton, on the 22nd. It’s our first (intentional, anyway) headlining show, and we have a real poster and everything. You can buy tickets for £4 on the door, or in advance for £2 plus a 50p booking fee from WeGotTickets. If you buy through them, you should donate some of the money you saved to ActionAid when you go to the checkout. Support on the night comes from Jaccals and The Cape Of Good Hope, who are both absolutely brilliant.

Finally, a limp excuse to plug our Facebook page. Have you liked it yet? If not, why not? It’s okay, I understand, you’re busy. Look, I’ll put a link here. We’re only 22,046,997 likes behind Metallica, and after that godawful Lulu record I think we could argue that we’re more deserving of likes than they are. Did you miss that link? Click here to like us! Look, I’ve made it bold and everything.

9/2/11 – First Gig, and more.

Exciting news y’all! Our first show has been officially sorted out, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll be playing at the HESFES home-education festival (it’s the biggest in the world!).

The festival is held this year just outside of Bury St Edmunds in Sussex, which is a charming little place from the incredibly blurry memories I have of it. It’s between the 23rd and the 30th of July, so presumably our set will fall somewhere between the two dates. Should be fun! We’re playing with a couple of cool punk/rock bands, and some singer-songwriters too…so hopefully there won’t be any of that “let’s piss in a bottle and throw it” mentality we pray not to encounter at some point in the future.

For those of you who would like to actually see us play in Birmingham, fear not! We hope we’ll be able to announce a show or two soon. Exciting times, though as the only one who hasn’t played live I will inevitably throw up EVERYWHERE.

Now we have a live show to play, we should probably be sorting out a set! We have three or four songs ready to go, along with a couple we’ve been working on that have the potential to be pretty awesome. Hopefully we’ll have something to show you later in the week, so you can all get super-psyched about coming to see us.

Matt
