Q:Sorry to hear about constants part one, but you guys still are amazing and once i get money I'm throwing it at you so be prepared.
We appreciate people throwing money at us, but preferably in cash. Change being thrown all up in our grill isn’t particularly enjoyable.
Q:any upcoming summer gigs?
Hi! We have a couple of gigs planned for June, and we’ll post details of those here and on our Facebook page soon. July will see us playing a festival show, with any luck, and we’ve applied to play at Artsfest 2012 in Birmingham in September.
I’d say follow our Songkick page, but unfortunately it seems to now be showing gigs from the other Arbor Lights. *sigh*
Our american friend Ben made this really, really great video for On A Sea. I really dig the interpretation of the song and it’s really well put together. Now someone go bug him to make some for all our other songs!
Arbor Lights Book Club time!
Have you all read this book? It’s the book on the underground scene in America during the 80’s. When I was 16, it introduced me to the Minutemen, Mission Of Burma, Fugazi and Sonic Youth and since then I never looked back. It’s written in such a passionate way, and also in a truly honest way too; the writer doesn’t pull any punches when he talks about some of the bands at points, and it makes for a really emotional touch (especially when he talks about the tragic death of the Minutemen’s guitarist D.Boon).
What do you all think of it? Are there any similar books you’d recommend to us?

Good news for anyone who’s scared of Zip files and for some reason doesn’t have PayPal; you can now get our EP on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and you can listen for free on Spotify.
The EP is £3.45 on Amazon and £3.95 on iTunes. On our Bandcamp you can download our album in a higher bitrate for FREE. You can choose to pay some if you like but we don’t expect you to. Basically, it’s awesome, and if you choose to get our EP you might as well get it from there.
The EP will be coming soon to other streaming services too; Deezer, eMusic, Mog, iheartradio and Zune, amongst a couple of other stores including Google Play.

Q:Uhhh random question time: does constants part 2 have a part one?
There is a part one…it was meant to be a b-side to On A Sea but Korn heard what we’d written and sued us for plagarism. There was only like…ninety seconds of the song that sounded just like Freak On A Leash, but those guys just did not get off our case.
08/05/12
Hi everyone. Once again we’ve been really quiet on here and for that I’m super sorry. We’ll do better for you now, baby, I promise. Anyway, there’s a couple of interesting things we can talk about today, so here goes:
EP Copies
Our handmade copies of the EP are proving to be pretty popular! We’re really glad people have been enjoying them. If you’ve snagged one, let us know what number you’ve got! If you haven’t seen them already, go here and check out our hand-made copies of the EP, and then go here to our Bandcamp and buy one. £3 plus postage! You’re practically robbing us.
Getting played at football stadiums and on podcasts
We got played at Molineux football ground on Sunday, just before kick-off between Wolves and Everton. That’s pretty rad!
We’ve also been featured on The Milk Bar podcast, which is a sort of local podcast here in the Midlands - our drummer J got a sort of light grilling about the band from the presenter, and he didn’t swear. Good job! Thanks to Jason Forrest for putting us on - he also was responsible for a few thousand football fans being subjected to Zombie Ska, so he deserves even more love.
The 6forty Project podcast is another amazing collection of post-rock music and they’ve featured us on their latest playlist alongside some of my absolute favourite bands (this is exciting!)
We also got played on the Five Song Set podcast, which is neat and featured a few interesting bands. Check that one out here.
EP 2
On a list of surprises falling somewhere between ‘grass is green’ and ‘grass isn’t very nice to just chew on unless you’re a cow’, we’ve started working on EP number 2. Or an album. Who knows. Some of you who came down to our EP launch gig will have heard a couple of songs (including this one on Youtube - thanks Dad!) that we’ve finished so far and we have a few more in the pipeline. It’s exciting writing again after so long recording and not moving forward! It’s also exciting to see where we’re going as a band. Hopefully you’ll be excited too.
-
Anyway that’s about it for now. As ever, come say hello here or on our Facebook, where we’ve got into a habit of telling everyone how awesome other bands are instead of ourselves. If you haven’t checked the EP out yet, seriously, what? You’ve read all of this and you haven’t even listened to a bit of it? Go sort it out!
Hugs and kisses, you horrible lot. xo
…and following on very nicely from our previous post, the remaining physical versions of the EP are now available to purchase from our BandCamp page. We’ve only made 100 of these and they’re all hand numbered so you’ll need to be quick.
One of these will set you back a meagre £3 and we’re shipping these beauties internationally so nobody should feel left out!
